It’s rare that I go to a cars and coffee, but when I do, I find the Good Stuff. This “blobeye” Subaru STI is one of the Good Cars.

This gathering of machinery is called Shore Shifters, and it was reasonably vibey as far as car meets go. It’s still a parking lot full of cars, but the special angle is doing it on the beach, almost literally. You could step out of the parking lot and be on the sands of Long Beach.
On occasion, Subarus can be particular sufferers of horrific owners and subsequent tasteless modifications. Seeing the rare survivor or tastefully done Impreza is always a treat, especially when there is a hood scoop delete. Peeking through the hood, there is obvious charge piping for a front-mount intercooler and the flat-four lump underneath it.
Best of all, the hectic fitment of the wheels gives the car purpose and aggression while not looking overly pokey. Best of all, it follows one of my golden rules: TE37 the world.
