The paint on this BMW M5 Competition goes by the name Verdes Ermes Pearl Metallic. Metallic paints have been around for a long time, but this isn’t a pedestrian green. In the right light, it has a ton of depth and contains beautiful flake mixed in with a pleasnt pearlescence.

I love this optional color on the current BMW M5. It’s definitely a bummer that you have to throw down a sizeable amount of coin on a new BMW M5 to get it, but at least it’s out there, ready to be enjoyed by any passer-by who notices it.

We enthusiasts complain all the time that the vast majority of cars on the road are some shade of white, silver, grey, or black. This color flips that script a tad and shows that, at least as performance models go, you can drive something that really does stand out. I wish colors like this were available for more everyday normie cars with much smaller price tags. Even on regular rides, a nice color can take a good design to another level.
