What IS Included with the Ferrari Warranty

A new Ferrari comes with a three-year unlimited mileage factory warranty. One unique thing about the warranty is that it bundles both the powertrain and bumper-to-bumper coverage. Most car makers typically keep them seperate. Ferrari’s warranty also comes with roadside assistance, which helps if you get stranded on the side of the road. Plus, many new Ferraris come with seven years of complimentary scheduled maintenance services.

Powertrain

Ferrari’s powertrain coverage covers all the parts that provide power to the sports car, which includes components such as the engine, transmission, and drivetrain. The powertrain coverage lasts three years, which is on the shorter side, but you can lengthen it through an extended warranty (which costs extra).

Where the warranty really stands out is through its unlimited mileage coverage. Chances are if you own a Ferrari there’s a good chance you will be driving it at the track or raceway, so you’ll burn through plenty of miles before those three years are up. So, if anything were to happen on the way to the speedway, you’re covered.

Bumper-to-Bumper

The bumper-to-bumper coverage is exactly the same as the powertrain warranty. Ferrari decided to roll the two into one packaged deal. Unlike many automakers that separate coverage for bumper-to-bumper and powertrain, luxury dealers often bundle it with powertrain.

The coverage is only three years long, but we’ll discuss how that’s poor compared to other dealers later on. Overall, the bundle protects you from having to pay to repair a broken or malfunctioning component inside or outside the Ferrari. However, if your beloved Ferrari breaks down due to any factory defect, it is covered thanks to the bumper-to-bumper warranty.

Roadside Assistance

All brand-new Ferrari’s also come with 24-hour roadside assistance. The convenient program covers any mechanical issue you may experience while on the road. Ferrari will also send a tow truck (up to 100 miles) with your ride to a Ferrari dealership.

The plan also covers any dead batteries, flat tires, empty fuel tanks, locking yourself out of the car, and many other issues. By simply using an app on your phone, you can select a nearby dealer to help you out.

Maintenance Program

The Ferrari factory warranty also comes with a seven-year complimentary scheduled maintenance program. The package is transferable and includes maintenance labor as well as spare parts, engine oil, and brake fluid. However, there is a catch as Ferrari owners must bring their vehicle to a certified Ferrari dealer.

What’s NOT Included with the Ferrari Warranty

When it comes to the Ferrari limited warranty there are a lot of good things to protect your wallet and your vehicle. However, there are also certain limitations and a few things not covered by the warranty at all.

Trip Interruption Assistance

While Ferrari does offer roadside assistance it does not include a trip-interruption plan in its limited warranty coverage. It’s a benefit that is offered by several other high-end dealers and automakers that is missing from the Ferrari plan.

Ferraris aren’t typically cars you see driving around town on a daily basis, but owners tend to take them to tracks on weekends or holidays. Trip interruption assistance is handy during those times you plan on enjoying a day at the raceway but you need to take your car to the shop unexpectedly. If the mechanic needs to keep it overnight and you’re far from home, this type of service kicks in to cover the cost of a hotel or food.

Incidental Issues

One thing the warranty does not mention is accidental or incidental coverage. If there is an issue with components or workmanship problem, the warranty will kick in and cover it. However, if damage is caused by the owner or something else, you may be out of luck.

These types of issues may be linked to inclimate weather such as hail, wind, or rain damage. General wear and tear issues aren’t covered either, so you really need to take good care of your Ferrari and ensure it doesn’t get scratched or scuffed.

The Good Things about the Ferrari Warranty

The manufacturer’s warranty provided by Ferrari is certainly comprehensive. It covers basically everything and anything that can go wrong with your sports car, as long as it’s a factory defect or issue. If there’s a part that needs to be replaced, the warranty will cover it free of charge.

The next best thing about the factory warranty is the seven-year complimentary plan provided by Ferrari. You’ve already spent quite a large sum of money on the vehicle, so Ferrari’s service can help you save some extra cash in the future.

Ferrari’s 24/7 roadside assistance coverage is beneficial as well. If the car every breaks down, the warranty kicks in and a tow truck will be sent to take it to the nearest dealer within 100 miles. Another great perk is the service is completely transferable.

The Bad Things about the Ferrari Warranty

There are a few downsides with the warranty with the most lackluster one being its length. Ferrari’s new vehicle limited warranty only lasts up to three years but comes with unlimited miles. While that is longer than most standard factory warranties (three years or 36,000 miles) it’s on the short side.

Another drawback is if anything were to physically damage the Ferrari, you’re out of luck when it comes to the warranty. Any damage to the paint, tires, wheels, or external body isn’t covered.

While the free seven-year scheduled maintenance is a nice addition, there is a catch. Owners must bring their Ferraris annually to a certified mechanic or they lose the service. This can also be difficult for those who may live far away from an authorized dealership.

Takeaway Value

If you’re thinking about buying a Ferrari, chances are you know what you’re getting into. They are pricey, loud, and look great, but they can be difficult to manage. The factory warranty is great for anyone who does not drive the car that often but is lacking when it comes to its duration.

While the limited warranty is included when you buy a Ferrari, you may want to think about purchasing an extended warranty. The New Power15 extended warranty adds 15 years of coverage for your Ferrari. The plan is available for both new and pre-owned Ferraris and covers the vehicle’s main mechanical components, including the engine, gearbox, suspension, and steering.

FAQs

Q: How long is a factory Ferrari warranty?

The standard length of a brand-new Ferrari warranty is three years, and it comes with unlimited mileage. It covers powertrain and bumper-to-bumper issues.

Q: Is a Ferrari warranty transferable?

Yes. You can transfer the warranty to another owner if you end up selling the Ferrari at some point before the warranty expires.

Q: Can I take my Ferrari to any dealer for service?

Yes, but the warranty won’t be honored if you take it to a local garage. The warranty specifically states that vehicle must be serviced at a certified Ferrari dealer for warrantable repairs. You will end up paying out of pocket if you have an unauthorized facility replace or repair parts.
