What IS Covered in the Jaguar Warranty

The Jaguar factory warranty includes a basic coverage that will help to keep your vehicle well-serviced and in good condition for many years. For Jaguar vehicles with a model year of 2016 or newer, they will enjoy a five-year or 60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper and powertrain warranty. Older vehicles are only provided with a four-year or 50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty.

Replacement of parts is done by trained Jaguar technicians, who will only use genuine Jaguar-approved parts. Also, Jaguar accessories are covered for one year, unlimited mileage, or the remainder of the bumper-to-bumper warranty—whichever is longer.

• Roadside Assistance

Jaguar’s EliteCare program includes 24-hour roadside assistance for five years or 60,000 miles. You will get assistance if you are low on fuel, if you need a battery jump, if you locked your keys in the car, or if you have a flat tire. It also includes emergency towing services anywhere in the United States, and your vehicle will be taken to the nearest Jaguar-authorized retailer.

If your vehicle can’t be repaired on time, the warranty will pay for alternate transportation. If you are 50 miles from your home address and need to seek hotel accommodation, it will cover the cost of the accommodation as well.

• Extras 

Also under the Jaguar EliteCare, you will receive complimentary scheduled maintenance via Jaguar’s Passport to Service program for five years or 60,000 miles. This also involves a service interval light alert, powered by Jaguar’s InControl Remote and Protect Technology,  which alerts you of your vehicle’s maintenance needs every 16,000 miles or 12 months.

You can also take advantage of the paint and corrosion warranty, which is valid for six years or unlimited mileage regardless of the changes in vehicle ownership. If there are any defects in the paintwork, or the vehicle’s surface is perforated by rust corrosion, it will get repaired or replaced free of charge.

What’s NOT Covered in the Jaguar Warranty

While the Jaguar warranty offers comprehensive coverage that’s sure to keep your vehicle and its accessories in good condition, there are a few areas not included. These exclusions are common with most factory warranties.

• Neglect and Damage

Jaguars are powerful vehicles but they can get damaged under rough handling. The warranty doesn’t cover the repair costs of a vehicle if it’s determined that they are a result of improper use or abuse of the vehicle.

Also, it doesn’t cover damages resulting from theft, fire, accidents, or severe environmental conditions. In addition, you won’t get covered for damages resulting from failure to follow the recommended service schedule.

• Wear and Tear 

Almost all components can be serviced and replaced under Jaguar’s EliteCare plan except components that have worn out from normal use. Therefore, the wiper blades, brake pads, upholstery, and other wear and tear parts are excluded from the coverage.

Replacement of tires as a result of wear and tear is also not covered by the manufacturer. The best the dealer can do is patch it up for you if you have a flat, but it won’t cover major damage for free.

• Modifications

Damages caused by modifications to the vehicle are excluded from the coverage. The warranty will only cover genuine Jaguar accessories and only ones installed by an authorized dealer. Repairs relating to DIY-installed aftermarket parts won’t be covered.

This extends to damages caused by modifications to the vehicle’s paint body with paints, sealants, or polishes not recommended or done by an authorized Jaguar dealer.

The coverage includes replacement for items that are depleted in normal service. Therefore, during every service, the synthetic oil and oil filter will be replaced. The mechanics will also top off the brake fluid, power steering fluid, and windshield washer fluid after ever 16,000 miles. In addition, the spark plug and pollen filter will be replaced after every 32,000 miles.

The Drawbacks of the Jaguar Warranty
