What IS Included with the Maserati Warranty
Maserati North America Inc. provides each new car and SUV owner with a four-year/50,000-mile basic warranty. This transferable limited warranty includes bumper-to-bumper, powertrain, and corrosion coverage.
Maserati’s new car limited warranty covers repairs from defects in materials or workmanship only. The warranty is fairly comprehensive and covers nearly everything, from the engine and transmission to the cooling system and electrical components. It also covers the differential, driveshaft, suspension, steering, brake system, fuel system, and climate control system.
If any part of the bodywork of the vehicle is perforated by rust corrosion, Maserati will repair or replace the panels free of charge during the lifespan of the warranty.
The emission design and malfunction warranty provides coverage for four years, except for specified major emission control components for which the coverage is eight years or 80,000 miles, whichever happens first.
Roadside Assistance
When you buy a new Maserati, you have access to 24-hour roadside assistance. If your vehicle breaks down due to an accident, dead battery, or a flat tire, help is just a phone call away. The automaker will also assist if you lose or break your keys. If necessary, Maserati will tow your vehicle to the nearest authorized Maserati dealership, repair shop, or fuel station.
The automaker will provide you with a replacement vehicle or rental car reimbursement if the warranty repairs take more than four hours. If service takes more than 24 hours, Maserati will cover a taxi or other transportation expenses as well as hotel accommodations. The automaker will also cover the repatriation of your vehicle from abroad.
What’s NOT Included with the Maserati Warranty
Maserati’s warranty has some exclusions. It does not cover normal wear and tear of items such as the battery, tires, wiper blades, spark plugs, light bulbs, and brake linings and disc pads. It also excludes normal maintenance services, including lubrication and filters, replacement of brake pad linings, and wheel alignment/balancing/adjustment.
The factory warranty will not cover damage caused by environmental conditions (such as acid rain, flooding, or fire), or damage due to misuse, negligence, improper vehicle operation or maintenance, or vehicle modification.
Also, the automaker will not cover the battery, which will not maintain a charge if the vehicle is only driven for short distances over a prolonged period of time. If you only drive the car occasionally, it can cause short-term starting problems and long-term battery damage.
Maserati will not cover damage to the wheels, tires, and suspension parts if you drive over rough or damaged road surfaces (a problem more consistent with low-profile tires). In addition, the automaker will not pay for repairs involving non-genuine Maserati parts or accessories.
Perks of the Maserati Warranty
Maserati’s comprehensive warranty coverage is longer than the industry standard of three years/36,000 miles and provides one year and 14,000 miles of extra protection. Since most factory defects surface within the first couple of years, the length of Maserati’s warranty should provide adequate protection against expensive repair bills.
Also, the warranty on new Maserati vehicles is transferable to a private party. This can be enticing to potential buyers, thus boosting the vehicle’s resale value. The 24-hour Maserati roadside assistance program, along with trip-interruption benefits and rental car reimbursement, are also nice features that can provide some peace of mind.
Disadvantages of the Maserati Warranty
Unlike some other automakers that provide extended powertrain coverage, Maserati’s bumper-to-bumper and powertrain coverage match in terms of length. Powertrain warranties are often longer than bumper-to-bumper warranties because they cover fewer components.
Maserati’s powertrain coverage is only four years/50,000 miles, which is less than a competitor such as Jaguar, which provides a five-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper and powertrain warranty. Budget brands such as Hyundai and Kia provide 10-year/100,000-mile warranties.
While Maserati has some extra perks, it does not provide complimentary maintenance services. Aston Martin, for example, provides one year of free oil changes, while Jaguar provides complimentary scheduled maintenance services throughout the lifespan of the basic warranty.
Takeaway Value
If you’re in the market for a new Maserati Quattroporte, Maserati Levante, or other models, the automaker’s new car warranty should provide adequate coverage to protect against factory defects since most of these types of issues occur within the first few years of the car’s service life. If you want additional protection, you can always upgrade to a Maserati extended warranty.

FAQs
Maserati’s factory warranty provides bumper-to-bumper and powertrain coverage that includes the engine, transmission, drivetrain, suspension, steering, brake/cooling/fuel systems, electrical components, and climate control system. Maserati also provides warranty coverage for its certified pre-owned (CPO) vehicles.
Maserati’s new car limited warranty lasts for four years or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first.
Yes. Since the brand is an import, the parts alone on Maserati vehicles are pricey. It can be challenging to source parts for the vehicle due to a lower supply. Also, the car is not particularly reliable, and issues with the electrical system, axle, and suspension aren’t uncommon.
