I don’t want to get in the habit of sharing random classified ads and auction links all the time here, but my god, I’m losing my mind looking at the way this red XKE was presented.

My father, a longtime fan of anything European and rag-roofed, sent me a link to this auction (ends today, March 18 if you happen to be in the market) last week and I haven’t stopped thinking about the photoset since.
You really, really should hit that link and look at all the pictures. That car, in that color and configuration, in that setting, is just dripping with coolness and class.
I don’t really know much about E-Types, besides the fact that they’re devastatingly gorgeous, so I’ll have to leave it up to the commenters to say whether or not this is a great spec or what it’s worth.
As for the beautiful batch of photos, a little casual research revealed that the shooter who goes by “TheImageEngine” on Bring-A-Trailer is photographer Josh Bryan and his portfolio of auction posting photos alone is very impressive.
As you’ll see if you stumble on more of the listings he’s shot (the style is pretty easy to recognize) there’s a lot of good stuff, but the way this red color pops in dramatic lighting is really memorable.
In a comment on another vehicle listing he photographed he wrote: “These are done in my purpose built studio with a 30x40ft overhead soft box and 3 available directions to shoot for different backgrounds.” Neat!
I found Bryan’s website and was able to get his blessing to share the picture above as a Feature Photo. In an email, he added that “the night time images were done using bounced light from the strobes’ positioned to only illuminate the car.” He also sent me a behind-the-scenes video that goes into the gear he uses a little bit, if you’re interested:
