What IS Covered in the Bentley Warranty

Under a Bentley warranty, all Bentley models, including the Bentley Flying Spur, Bentley Continental GT, Bentley Bentayga, and Bentley Mulsanne, are covered for three years and unlimited miles (unlimited miles are not too common in warranties). 

Bentley does not provide specifics, but bumper-to-bumper coverage typically means that a vehicle is covered for any problems with parts or functions of the car except for certain wear items, such as brake pads, windshield wipers, and tires. Powertrain coverage typically includes the engine, transmission, and powertrain, i.e., the mechanicals like the axles and differential that help move the power from the engine and transmission to the wheels. 

To comply with the Bentley factory warranty, you must perform standard maintenance on the vehicle. This includes tire rotations and synthetic oil changes. The good thing is that Bentley performs these standard maintenance items at no cost for the first year of the three-year warranty period. It adds new windshield wipers, a cabin air filter, and new key-fob batteries. 

Bentley includes a multi-point inspection when it performs regular maintenance services. The company uses all genuine Bentley parts for warranty work, and all repairs are performed by certified Bentley technicians. Roadside assistance is also included during the three-year warranty period. 

What’s NOT Covered in the Bentley Warranty

As with most bumper-to-bumper warranties, wear items like brake pads, tires, and windshield wipers are not covered. But these items usually do not wear out during the first three years of ownership unless you drive under extreme conditions. 

The warranty only applies to the original owner of the car, so if you are not the original owner during the first three years, you must cover any failures of parts or part assemblies and the labor to fix or repair them. 

As a Bentley owner, you must also comply with (and pay for) regular maintenance that includes tire rotations and synthetic oil changes for the last two years of the three-year warranty. 

Good Things About the Bentley Warranty

If a part or assembly—whether manufactured by Bentley or supplied by them—goes bad, you are covered. This is true for the first three years you own the car and for unlimited mileage during this period. The warranty covers all parts, bumper to bumper, to replace or repair them. This also includes the powertrain and software upgrades. 

While regular maintenance is required to keep the warranty valid, the company covers these services for the first year that you own your Bentley motor car. It also adds a few perks to the standard maintenance during this time. These perks include new windshield wipers, a cabin air filter, and new key fob batteries. 

Whether you’re in the neighborhood or traveling, you can have your Bentley serviced at any authorized Bentley dealer while it is under warranty. Roadside assistance also comes with the three-year, unlimited mileage warranty. And it’s good to know that Bentley dealers have a reputation of being friendly and helpful.

The Drawbacks of the Bentley Warranty

After the first year, you have to pay for regular maintenance out of pocket to keep the warranty intact. At the minimum, this includes tire rotations and synthetic oil changes. 

An issue for some people is that the warranty covers only the original owner of the car. If you sell the car within the first three years of ownership, the new owner has to purchase warranty coverage separately to cover the car.

Also, Bentley is a little unclear about what type of roadside assistance it provides. It states that “a roadside assistance package is available to customers purchasing a new car for the duration of the warranty,” but doesn’t offer any details about towing, jump starts, gas delivery, etc.

The automaker covers its Bentley luxury cars for unlimited mileage for the first three years of ownership. It also provides one year of required maintenance that includes oil changes and tire rotations as well as windshield wipers, key fob batteries, and cabin filters, if needed. 

While Bentley picks up the costs for the required maintenance for the first year of the warranty,  owners pay for the required maintenance for the following two years under the warranty. Parts the warranty does not cover are wear items like brake pads, tires, and spark plugs. 

Aside from that, the bumper-to-bumper and drivetrain warranty for Bentley cars covers all parts and assemblies made or supplied by Bentley. This includes addressing software problems and providing upgrades.

Roadside assistance is another plus with the Bentley new car warranty. It is also good for three years and unlimited miles.
