I always laugh when I see those little clocks inside of modern cars. There’s no reason any car in 2021, not even a Mercedes-Benz or a Rolls-Royce, should have an analog clock that’s the same size as a wrist watch. Something that tiny is not classy, it’s miniscule and silly. If current automakers wanted to inject real style and class into a car with a clock, they should look back in history for inspiration.

What you see here is the interior of a 1947 Lincoln Continental Convertible. See how big that clock is? It’s gorgeous, something I’d actually want on my dashboard. It adds real panache to the look of the interior, and it can be seen and used by anybody inside the car, whether in the front or back seats. Heck, this is a convertible, so even a passerby could check the time on it.
Adding to the style factor, the dash is essentially symmetrical if you remove the steering wheel. Both sides feature a large dial/gauge/clock, and it all centers around the radio. This example is owned by Chicago’s Klairmont Kollection, and it made an appearance at the Chicago Auto Show a few years back.
