The powertrain coverage lasts for a limited warranty period of five years or 100,000 miles following the purchase of the pre-owned Chevy and after the expiration of the original powertrain warranty.

Things Left Out of the Chevy CPO Warranty

The Bad Things about the Chevy CPO Warranty

While the CPO warranty keeps owners of certified pre-owned Chevrolet cars from having to pay for certain repairs, there are certain aspects of this warranty that won’t apply or save you money. It excludes many costs, most of which are inevitable for older vehicles, especially when buying a used model in the first place. For instance, you will likely have to pay out-of-pocket for normal operation costs such as maintenance and labor despite holding the warranty.

Another drawback of the CPO warranty is that it can restrict where you can get work done on the vehicle. The limited warranty does not include independent automotive repair services, which can be cheaper than work done at a Chevy dealership.
