Colorful BMW M cars are always good. Sure, I have a soft spot for Alpine White, but I otherwise don’t care for Silbergrau, black, or any other shade of gray. Believe me, I was overjoyed to see this Dakar Yellow E36 M3 and Imola Red E46 M3 parked together in Malibu.

This is actually directly in front of The Malibu Kitchen, home of some of the best sandwiches and breakfast burritos in Los Angeles. There also happens to be an unofficial but large gathering of enthusiast cars every Sunday that I always say I’m never going to, but my free day for a drive to Malibu always lands on a Sunday.
Either way, I get there as late as I like, avoiding most of the annoying traffic. I get the added bonus of seeing some of the best metal anywhere while enjoying my kitchen panini. Around the same time I saw these two cars, a Lexus LFA casually parked a few spots over and it dominated my attention.
Enjoy this mustard-and-ketchup pairing of old BMWs. Good colors always win. Yes, I’m saying Dakar Yellow is a good color. Fight me in the comments!
