And Lambos always look faster in yellow.

It seems that lately I’ve been hanging around some super machines, and it’s been honestly a lot of fun. Sure, I love preaching the low-budget gospil but experiencing something genuinely fast and alien, even from a distance, is a good time. And in the world of supercars, Lamborghini is still the benchmark for theatre, noise, and exuberance. Leading and following from this Performante, I can tell you that it is absolutely accurate.

  • Car(s): Lamborghini Huracan Performante coupe (owned by Misha Mansoor, @mishaperiphery on Instagram)

My GTI is absolutely municipal compared to this car. It can’t keep up with it, no matter how good the driver (me) is, and feels dumb and slow compared to it. Still, even making the attempt to follow it is incredibly rewarding. Not because I can maintain a decent gap (it was an embarrassing gap), but because of the music that it can generate from its V10 engine.

Following it was like actually playing Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. Beat-for-beat, my appreciation for the sound design in Need for Speed games absolutely overflowed, because I was transported into a fantasy land being behind this car. I felt like a kid again, experiencing that sound all over again. It was a strange experience because it wasn’t my car giving me the joy, I was actually getting dusted. It will stay in my spine like LSD, however, for the rest of my life.

I’m real sad that Misha is selling this Performante, because it’s a truly incredible machine with tears-dragging charisma. Enjoy them while you see them, because that sound, those engines, and the je ne sais quoi of supercars dies by the day.

As big as we could get it:
