I won’t make it a habit of tossing my weird Photoshop experiments into our daily featured photo slot, but this one in particular I just… liked. Seeing hatches as hot as a Focus RS and an Abarth 500 hanging out together is always fun, but the picture I got didn’t turn out quite as sharp as I’d hoped so I had to improvise.
Picture Details:
- Car(s): Ford Focus RS, Fiat 500 Abarth
- Location: The Motoring Club
- Photog: Andrew P. Collins (me) (Instagram: @andrewatlarge)
- Camera: iPhone XR
The Fiat parked sideways without spilling out over the parking lines is a nice touch. Look at how tiny it is, even compared to a Focus! This isn’t Kevin Williams’ 500, that car’s almost back on the road back in Ohio. I’m actually not sure who these cars belong to – they showed up at a cars and coffee gathering recently and I just liked looking at them parked up together.
Anyway, just the other day I was shaking my head at my coworker Jonathon Klein for using a wacky filter on a blog illustration, so I guess I have to apologize to him now (well, only if he sees this, hah).
I was going for something like a stylized depiction of what you might see through a FLIR camera. Then I added the Car Autance logo for no good reason. How do people feel about funky/wacky car photo treatments like this? I don’t be offended if you say no.
