For some reason, owning of one of the rarest Subarus in North America had me doing some weird stuff with my photos. I used a lot of odd framing, a mirror, double exposures, and different editing. The rare Subaru is, of course, my old 2008 Legacy Spec.B. You might have some of the other feature photos, but this is one the few pictures I took of it that was more… conventional. And you know what, It’s a pleasant photo!
- Car: 2008 Subaru Legacy Spec.B
- Location: Anaverde Hills, Palmdale, CA

- Camera: Canon 5D Mark III w/ 16-35mm f/2.8L
This particular frame came near the end of my time with the Spec.B. It was the classic case of the honeymoon bubble-bursting and immediately getting bored with the car, and not wanting to spend the money making it better. It desperately needed an STI quick ratio steering rack, a pro tune, probably a slightly larger VF52 turbo, and a bunch of other stuff.
Though it was a problematic machine, I still miss it a bit. It was pretty close to being decent! What turned me off most was the rattly interior, exacerbated by impressively low road noise. I actually spent an entire week with my door panels off to track rattles down with a frequency generator. I solved almost all of the rattles, but one persisted, and it was the actual freakin’ door latch. I couldn’t fix it! It was the last straw.
Anyways, enjoy the photo, as big as we could get it:
