I love random automotive encounters. This Toyota 86 and its owner came into my orbit by a fortuitous cup of vanilla chai at a Santa Clarita Dunkin’ Donuts. I actually didn’t have a car at the time, so I was wheeling my mom’s VW Jetta TDI. I parked up outside and as I was gathering my things I noticed two fellows clambering out of a tidy Toyota 86, and walk into Dunkin. I too was there for a drink. I made my introduction, and I convinced them to let me snap some shots.

We discussed cars for a few minutes and lounged. Cool guys! Of course, they said yes to me taking some photos, so we went to a nearby parking structure for an impromptu quickie shoot. I took a few different photos, but this one that I took from the roof of the Jetta for a nice aerial perspective. The car itself was simple: Fortune Auto 500 coilovers, genuine two-piece Work Meister wheels, some angry-looking tail pipes, and it’s all wrapped up with nice lowness and fitment. In Japan, this would be closest to a “street style” car, a simple style that involves nice wheels and being low.

As big as we could get it:
