The Lexus LC 500 has been around for a few years but it’s quite a rare bird on the street, even in southern California, the spiritual home of the brand.

What I mean by “the spiritual home” is that Toyota and Lexus moved to Texas from SoCal a few years back, but their presence is still very much here. And with the introduction of the LC 500 convertible last year, even more so.
In my opinion, it’s one of the prettiest soft-top convertibles ever made and looks just as good with the top up as it does with the top down. It’s also just overall striking and beautiful; in person, no angle looks bad. I could stand next to one and stare at it all day.
Besides its looks, the LC maneuvers through twisty roads and accelerates very well, too. It’s heavy, but handles itself well. Plus, under its hood is Lexus’ 5.0-liter 2UR-GSE V8, which is such a glorious-sounding power plant. And Lexus goes out of its way to ensure it has a loud, pronounced resonance.
It’s a shame more people don’t buy these. If I had the cash, I would in a heartbeat.
