Well, it was a pretty mild descent. But the LC looked good anyway.

I snapped this photo last Fall while testing the 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser Heritage Edition. I couldn’t give it a thorough off-road test, almost all of the trails and fire roads were closed due to massive wildfires. I didn’t have the time to make it up to my new home away from home, Hungry Valley, either. So I had to improvise.
I went about driving around the Santa Ana Mountains in Orange County, looking for any opportunity to crawl up or down a rocky slope. Luckily I found some spots that (with a little camera magic) could pass as climbs and descents. I did also find some little inclines to lumber up and down, though they were pretty short and nothing terribly special.
I think the main reason for this, was because the Land Cruiser was indeed something special. The nameplate’s been around for the better part of sixty years, with this latest, J200 generation being the most technologically advanced and capable, yet.
Had I found some actual menacing trails, I’m sure the Land Cruiser would’ve treated them as nothing special, too.
