Hundreds of vehicles, from real supercars to made-up concepts, are slapped with the cliche label of being “spaceships” or “UFOs,” but there aren’t many that look like a literal alien. Not the technological wondership an alien would command, the physical being. The Morgan 3-Wheeler is exactly that. Alien. No matter where it might be, among any crowd, at any time or year, the 3-Wheeler is going to stand out with a design that intrigues and a mug that’s a bit startling.

Nestled somewhere in between cars, motorcycles, and childrens’ rideables, three-wheelers have their own little club. The traditional Harley-Davidson trikes skew older and more relaxed, the outlandish Polaris Slingshots and Can-Am Spyders target the energetic tuner crowd, the Vanderhall Venice and Carmel are kind of like the slick new kids on the block, and then there are the Morgans, which have blended British elegance with the rawness of motorcycle riding for decades.

Although the 3-Wheeler’s body is smooth and aerodynamic, its nose is anything but. Blinding chrome covers many of the surfaces, and the suspension bits spike out like a complex K’Nex kit. At first glance, the large circular headlights give off Aaahh!!! Real Monsters vibes, and with a closer look, you’ll notice there’s an actual skull staring right back at you between the V-twin. It’s all a bit unnerving until you get into the Morgan and set out on the road. Then the motorcycle engine pulsates throughout your entire body, the corners of your mouth creep up, and all you want to do is drive until you’re dried out from the open-air ride.

Three-wheelers might be beyond your normal world of existence, but alien outsiders deserve a chance before judgement, just like anything else.
