Low Volkswagens always look good.

Now that my GTI sits in a downtrodden heap at the side of my house after the accident, I see other Volkswagens running free with their dubber owners and I feel a real pang for my car. A tidy, well-modded VW is undeniably classy, and this Mk5 Rabbit 2.5 is a great example.

This was one of my rare occasions actually showing up to a car meet, on my birthday no less. I brought my 2004 BMW 330i ZHP, because my aforementioned GTI is, uh, under the knife. I also saw an Autozam AZ-1, hung out with my friends Sarah and Dave, appreciated her Sepang Bronze Z4 M Coupe a bit, and enjoyed the overcast coastal Long Beach weather.

I don’t think this Rabbit will inspire the rebirth of Six Iron (my GTI) in any meaningful way, but it’s an inspiration. I miss just taking my car places and I do miss the lowness of my car when it was on KWs. Sure, the stock suspension handles and rides the best, but the low life calls me, even though I constantly talk about how more low isn’t always good.

Anyway, enjoy this Rabbit. As big as we could get it:
